	1:08pm joe: A few years ago I was out of town for business in Pennsylvania. Stuck in an I knew nothing about and focused on a highway like set up. I decided to do a drive around to the neighboring towns to see what I could find record book or thrift stores et. In doing so I stumbled across a good old middle America main st. as I was driving down said Main st. I was thrilled to see that they had a movie theater as I got closer I realized that I recognized the marquee of the theater. Then I saw one of the stores or signs (I don't remember) bore the name Phoenixville. The monster kid light bulb went off an I realized that I was in the presence of the theater from the Blob.

Deliverance was on network television that night and we all watched it and were freaked out even by the edited-for-television violence. It just left me super creeped out. I had to be something like 8 or so. Later, my sibs and friends disappeared and I was left alone to watch The Blob and I was doubly freaked out.

It's a completely bizarre silent experimental independent film, which the distributor tried to make more palatable by tacking on a narration track by Ed McMahon (!!). It's incredible-- you can find it on Prime (or YouTube).

	1:45pm Rich in Washington: Oh, they are GREAT at eating slugs! We had some for years and NEVER saw a single slug the whole time. Also, our grass was lush and green all year long, despite never watering it (we live in Washington state). On the downside, you can't walk on it without stepping in duck poo.

I insisted on having one, and true to form lost interest in it after about a week.Several months late, my mother found it in the back of the fridge and asked me "Do you want this?" It had turned the color the pulsing mass on the screen. I said "Gimme that" and took it outside and smeared it on the front of our neighbors house,which they had just repainted a brilliant white. I threw plastic tub it lived in on their front lawn and went back in the house to watch Felix The Cat.

	1:45pm Rich in Washington: Oh, they are GREAT at eating slugs! We had some for years and NEVER saw a single slug the whole time. Also, our grass was lush and green all year long, despite never watering it (we live in Washington state). On the downside, you can't walk on it without stepping in duck poo.

It had turned the color the pulsing mass on the screen. I said "Gimme that" and took it outside and smeared it on the front of our neighbors house,which they had just repainted a brilliant white. I threw plastic tub it lived in on their front lawn and went back in the house to watch Felix The Cat.

	10:56am WR: The bobbing blob is not helping me enjoy my morning oatmeal. The opening movie audio bits were fun. For now I think it best that I listen and not watch but then but I can't read the clever repartee. Such a dilemma.
