	4:28pm mariano: PaulR: It's a really interesting story: bananas used to be about as rare as papayas, but Cuyamel and United turned them into the staple we know (and yeah, usually by funding coups in return for feudalistic control of their banana plantations). A great-grandfather of mine, from Belize originally (or British Honduras as it was called then), worked for United in the 30s (a lowly clerical job, he wasn't some bigwig fruit baron lol).
