Pay attention to the deceased,
the deceased is the most private soul of all.
Never forget the offstage and inward deceased.
How happy are suspicious disappearances!
Now questionable is just the thing,
To get me wondering if disappearances are leery.
When I think of the absent, I see a beloved lip.
Now artful is just the thing,

The In And Quicksilver Quicksilver

Whose quicksilver is that? I think I know.
Its owner is quite sad though.
It really is a tale of woe,
I watch him frown. I cry hello.

He gives his quicksilver a shake,
And sobs until the tears make.
The only other sound's the break,
Of distant waves and birds awake.

So, Bri what version have you heard of Conquistador?
Avatar 1:00am
Mod Mokka Matti:

@Candy, as sad as today could have been, there were some good things. I wound up having a 3+ hour-long phone conversation with my younger sister up in northern Washington State today, who has kept herself distanced from everything after our parents passed, to not add onto her own stress, so we haven't spoken much at all since then. I just learned that she lost her own 13+ year old Schnauzer companion in late May, after a similar brief period of illness, so we have something else in common again. After I brought Sophia's earthly remains to our Veterinary clinic to begin the after-death care process, I went for a drive along part of the South Puget Sound, and stopped at one of our favorite local beaches/nature preserves very close to home, to watch the sun set and the tide come in along the bay. The weather certainly helped, as it turned out to be really nice and sunny, but started off this morning very overcast, cool and rainy.

Candy, regarding Roky: Some time ago I walked into a cafe and this woman came up and started talking to me. I did not realize my old girlfriend was in there. Something must have stirred in her when she saw this other woman been very friendly, because she came up to me and was quite chatty and animated, She noticed I had a book and wanted to know what I was reading. It was Eye Mind: The saga of Roky and The Elevators by Paul Drummond. Well, her face became exasperated and dismissive, as if to say: You haven't changed a bit, have you? She walked away and I felt stepped on once again, but also really great that she still still considered me a hopeless teenager.

This happed once: My next door neighbor found some acid in his sock drawer an we weren't doing anything so..... Well, when I finally got into bed. I had a horrible dream about a band playing an ugly pattern instead of a song. It was so disturbing I had to get up and stare at the green pilot light on my FM receiver until I wasn't scared anymore.

@MMM - thank u I always feel abit defensive when I tell people she’s a pitbull. I guess she looks scary brooklyn always “dress” her in girly pinks & floral collars, leash & coats in winter
@Owl Sun thanks for reading my request for Them. I asked mainly to reinforce MMM’s request for Them...
I think he needs it tonight.
@Bri& MMM - jeeeeez sleep paralysis dreams are the absolute worst. I’ve only had them a few times , they are the type of dream experience u can’t easily forget. I in addition to being ‘awake’ yet immobilized & mute I always feel as tho if I don’t fight it the da debil is gonna get me... ugh so bad. And yes I think calm ‘lucid dreaming’concentration helps u out of it. It’s like a bad trip yr struggling to get out of tho

Ok I need to go back to sleep but I fear this talk of bad acid trips, sleep paralysis, and also MMM’s loss might not be a very good headspace. I need OwlSun to help me get rid of bad vibes as I drift back to sleep
@ OwlSun I’m so discouraged

I received a message from my brother across the water
He sat laughin' as he wrote the end's in sight
So I said goodbye to all my friends
And packed my hopes inside a matchbox
'Cause I know it's time to fly
Oh yeah, come on, meet me in the morning
Meet me in the middle of the night
Ah yeah, the morning light is comin'
Don't it make you want to go and feel alright

I once saw a picture of a lady with a baby
Southern lady, had a very, very special smile
We are in the middle of a change in destination
When the train stops, all together we will smile
Oh, come on, come on now meet me in the morning
Won't you meet me in the middle of the night, night, night
Oh oh, yeah, everybody know the mornin' time is comin'
Don't it make you want to feel alright

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I see the boys of summer in their ruin
Lay the gold tithings barren,
Setting no store by harvest, freeze the soils;
There in their heat the winter floods
Of frozen loves they fetch their girls,
And drown the cargoed apples in their tides.

These boys of light are curdlers in their folly,
Sour the boiling honey;
The jacks of frost they finger in the hives;
There in the sun the frigid threads
Of doubt and dark they feed their nerves;
The signal moon is zero in their voids.

I see the summer children in their mothers
Split up the brawned womb's weathers,
Divide the night and day with fairy thumbs;
There in the deep with quartered shades

In this our age the gunman and his moll
Two one-dimensional ghosts, love on a reel,
Strange to our solid eye,
And speak their midnight nothings as they swell;
When cameras shut they hurry to their hole
down in the yard of day.

They dance between their arclamps and our skull,
Impose their shots, showing the nights away;
We watch the show of shadows kiss or kill
Flavoured of celluloid give love the lie.

19 Dylan and The Beatles
Dylan’s portrait appeared on the cover of The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band at the request of John Lennon. The iconic cover designed by Peter Blake and Jann Haworth features a tableau of historical figures and celebrities.

22 Dylan in Space
A photograph of Dylan was taken into space on board the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1998. Nasa official George Abbey made the arrangements to honour his Welsh roots and his mother who was born in Laugharne.

Thursday May 14th is International Dylan Thomas Day.

11 Dylan and Charlie Chaplin
On his first American tour in 1950 Dylan had dinner at Charlie Chaplin’s house in Los Angeles. The dinner was also attended by actress Shelley Winters and writer Christopher Isherwood. At Dylan’s request Chaplin cabled Caitlin in Laugharne so that she’d believe he’d met him.

On this day in 1967, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park hosted a daylong music festival that would come to be called “the gathering of the tribes,” widely billed at the time as a “human be in” (“be-in,” that is, on the analogy of “teach-in” and “sit-in”). The hippie happening was billed as a celebration of higher consciousness and personal empowerment: it marked an early sighting of the slogan “Question Authority,” and also witnessed the birth of Timothy Leary’s famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) mantra “Turn on, tune in, drop out.”
