	6:48pm sw2442: Johnyoung1234...I have that Guilty Pleasures CD you mentioned...that's where I heard Gerry's version of Gilbert Green for the first time...I got it when it first came out.

	6:52pm cometothesunshine: I use some professional software too that comes in to play in my work as a reissue producer. It is nice getting these songs into the world sounding as good as they can.
	6:53pm cometothesunshine: Also, mono 45's generally sound good and can be restored easily. A lot of people on YouTube etc, transfer them in stereo and they sound bad.
	6:53pm cometothesunshine: But record companies are unlikely to ever invest much in properly preserving these obscure mixes.
	6:53pm myron feld: "Parking In The Kokomo" is on a (mostly) great compilation called Absolutely Allentown. The 70s & 80s stuff on it isn't good, but the rest is!

	6:55pm Beantown Doug: McKenzie was one of those singers who seemed to be able to keep going a long time before needing to take a breath.
	6:55pm cometothesunshine: The tape of the Rondells burned in the Universal fire as did the Dunhill, Dot & A&M single tapes.

	6:57pm cometothesunshine: I was always sad this single mix of The Action was lost in action, but it is now on CD at last.

	6:57pm sw2442: That Universal fire was heartbreaking for many people who love music...it was devastating.

	6:58pm cometothesunshine: The real blame should go to UMG who never digitized most of their catalog of pop music.

	6:59pm cometothesunshine: They did a great job with Chess, Checker and other labels, but they liked the stuff I play a lot less.

	7:01pm Beantown Doug: My face literally scrunches up involuntarily thinking about the fire. It would have taken almost nothing to prevent it.

	7:03pm cometothesunshine: UMG owns so much catalog that remains untouched. They will never invest the time in cataloging it and digitizing it because there is not enough time or money.

	7:09pm sw2442: I'll be honest with you...if I had the opportunity, I would catalog and digitize it for FREE...just so it can be archived and preserved...I know that sounds completely insane, but I would do it.

	8:44pm sw2442: Beantown Doug...I'm a second generation fan...born in late 1969...I remember my aunt had a mono copy of the debut album which I listened to constantly...I saw the show for the first time in Summer 1976 right after it was syndicated for the first time...I loved it. My Dad and Mom couldn't, and still, don't understand why I'm such a fan...they were teenagers when the show debuted, but they thought they were silly. I got my younger sisters and brother interested in them eventually.

	6:53pm cometothesunshine: But record companies are unlikely to ever invest much in properly preserving these obscure mixes.

	8:44pm sw2442: Beantown Doug...I'm a second generation fan...born in late 1969...I remember my aunt had a mono copy of the debut album which I listened to constantly...I saw the show for the first time in Summer 1976 right after it was syndicated for the first time...I loved it. My Dad and Mom couldn't, and still, don't understand why I'm such a fan...they were teenagers when the show debuted, but they thought they were silly. I got my younger sisters and brother interested in them eventually.
