At 2:30 this morning I was sitting with our pup out in the backyard in the dirt under the Japanese maple. For some reason, the dog is comforted there. Luckily, she also finds our guest room to be a sort of safe room. If we can get her to follow us in there, she often settles right down. It's the strangest thing.

When our lab was reaching the end of his life, we learned that dogs can get sundowner syndrome. He would be mostly fine during the day but up most of the night, wandering and barking aimlessly. Led to some family strife, actually, because we were somewhat divided on when the right time to put him down would be (he had bladder cancer as well, and walked around the house like a dripping faucet)

Interesting, @LG. There are Christian connections to epistles. And I recall from my recent class on SA jazz that the music of the Anglican church, brought to SA via the UK, played a part in the development of the sound there. (I'm sure Mr. Matsuli can say much more about this!)

The letters of early church leaders are included as Epistles in the New Testament, @Jeff, so that is definitely a possible connection. However, I would think that "epistle" would be a name for a song or album rather than the group itself.

I blame Marie LaVeau.

An oddly untortured set of soul tracks from your ol' DJ today. To what do we owe the honor, I wonder?

All honour (okay, honor) accrues to you, Sir Doug! Thank you for all you do.

Great show today, even if I couldn't comment much. I've been on the phone with co-workers all morning because I am physically going to my workplace for a shift tomorrow at 5am. I'm kind of excited and scared at the same time. Wish me luck everybody!

Good luck and be safe, Irene! I know what you mean. I've transitioned to going back in to work one day a week now.

Hey hey, Jesse Kaminsky!

What's up with the weird garage grunge guitar in the middle of this soul pop number?!?!?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am
Irene Trudel:

Thanks Doug! I'll probably be one of two people in the whole place overseeing operations for the radio stations and streams, so not too troubling. Thanks for the great music, as always!
