Me too. I love this era of semi-swinging, semi-psyche film making crossover. There's a superb London-based one called 'I'll Never Forget Whatsishame' with Oliver Reed on blazing form. It starts with him walking into his office holding an axe and then setting about his desk with it.

@Woods - When I lived in Champaign, IL I was lucky enough to see Nakatani a bunch of times. He is friends with a dude in Champaign who puts on shows. They were always great. One Halloween I saw Nakatani play with a free jazz drummer from Chicago. They were scoring a live soundtrack to a really out Japanese Dracula film.

TDK60: Thanks. But no, actually, that was the one silver lining, no flooding. It blew through so fast it didn't dump a lot of rain overall. 110mph/~180kph winds were the issue, knocked everything offline. An unlit city at night can be pretty spooky. And just down the road, apparently, there was a sustained gun battle presumably between gangs settling scores under the cover of darkness.

OK, enough about me. Tell me tales of civilization and lights that never go out!
