Hello, Jan!
Hi everybody!

Paper Kosmonaut:

Hi there.

Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Rich, Hi Paper Kosmonaut!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am
Paper Kosmonaut:

This is the band I love to hate.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:06am
Jan Turkenburg:

I understand ;-) Brace for impact PK. I said to Joas: as long as you don't play Bohemian Rhapsody you're fine!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Greetings, Jan and friends!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:10am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

FREDDIE!!!!! Brian! Roger! John Deacon!!!!!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:19am
Jan Turkenburg:

And Joas is keeping his end of the agreement: NO Bohemian Rhapsody!!! Yay!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

hee hee! poor thing has been overplayed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

not my favorite era of Queen, but undeniably GLORIOUS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

yes, Freddie, it's worth it! xoxox
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:21am
Jan Turkenburg:

Same here. I like this song a lot nevertheless!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:22am
Jan Turkenburg:

aha, Joas reveals the recording date :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

my first concert was Queen's Hot Space tour with Billy Squier! :-)
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:24am
Jan Turkenburg:

wow...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Portland Oregon Colesium. My friend's mom came with us (i was 12?) and her hearing was never the same! oops!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:27am
Jan Turkenburg:

really? chronic tinitus? after one concert?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:27am
Jan Turkenburg:

I'm instantly turning my headphones down...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

um, i think it was her ear's last straw? not sure. my hearing was probably never the same, either!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Rich in Washington:

A Motorhead show in the 80s completely wrecked my hearing. Up to that point, I thought I was immune to loud music, standing right by the PA column, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

yow, Rich! hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

my hearing got shredded by standing near the PA of a Boredoms show in the early 90s. Oh, what a way to go! (Japanese noise)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am
Rich in Washington:

Hi Granny! How's it going?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am
Rich in Washington:

Just minutes before this show, the stream played the Space Lady version of Major Tom.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

hey, Rich, hanging in here. I am a hollerdaze grinch, so i kinda try to sneak through this time of year.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:34am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, funny, I mentioned it in my intro
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

i was just gonna say that's one of my favorite covers of all time. I've seen her perform that on street corners and in concert halls, and it always gets the crowd going!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am
Mx. Granny (e/em):

ooh, i like this Héroes del Silincio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm

Hi Feldpausch!

hi, Feldpausch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Rich in Washington:

That was delightful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Rich in Washington:

Hi Feldpausch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm
Rich in Washington:

I love this album - something about the double whammy of Bacharach, who was so ubiquitous when I was growing up - along with Moog music.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:09pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Oh, I forgot to mention Paper Kosmonaut! Are you still around PK? Or was it just too much the last hour? ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Actually, I have just signed back in. Is it safe?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:14pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, it's perfectly safe now. No Bløf anymore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Well, looking through the playlist from the past hour I am glad I did some other things. Don't get me started on it. (-;
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

ha ha!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

This certainly is better. I like me some Lalo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:56pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I think Ultimate Spinach is the ultimate name for a band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I think Penultimate Spinach is also very good.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Jan Turkenburg:

hahahaha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

If I wasn't so lazy I'd start a band called Penultimate Spinach.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Jan Turkenburg:

If I wasn't so lazy I would probably join...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Hmm. Maybe I just should cast three good looking women to sing and dance under that name.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
Jan Turkenburg:

LOL!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Singing utterly weird lyrics. And doieng a stupid dance. A little like Silver Convention.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:06pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes and then the only one of them that can actually sort of sing going solo on the side
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Yes and after a couple of years she'll start writing. Silly books about numerology and stuff.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:09pm
Jan Turkenburg:

And of course there has to be a scandal with a sex tape or something.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Yes but she actually was the one who was blackmailing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

aaaaand that was the end of penultimate spinach.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:14pm

I like the interview with Waits were told the story of going to a doctor about his throat and voice and it was Frank Sinatra's old doctor, who told him 'take care of your voice! Look what happened to Frank!' (who was still alive and a multi-millionaire) to which Tom replied 'Oh yeah! I wouldn't want THAT to happen!'.
