Loud! I tried working outside for a time today, but I lost feeling in my fingers. I can kind of type in gloves, but using the trackpad mouse is not possible. But it was good to let the sparrows and jays yell at me for a while. I gave them enough to last till tomorrow.

spod, I always have been -- was super into it as a little kid and then less so, though I usually tried to maintain a feeder the past several years. In the pandemic, though, I expanded to four feeders and became more intimately connected with the local population since I was home and out back all damn day every day. Really going to miss it as the cold drives us inside.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm

that's cool, Handy.

5 diff types of birds have grabbed my attn here at the new place:
1) western bluebirds (one greeted us outside the kitchen window when we arrived, and i see it and at least one other one most days -- i think they have a nest on the roof)
2) smaller birds who dart around the same area, and are numerous, and very fast (they search our potted plants for bugs, and like to dart through our breezeway)
3) larger, grey or brown birds who have some weight and dive into the acorns and leaves, like diving waterfowl (i though the sound was from squirrels until i witnessed one such a bird in action)
4) some kind of bird of prey that circles over our back yard and woods area (i'm assuming searching for prey; and i think it may be an American eagle -- feel like i've noticed white on it's head)
5) a very hooty owl that sometimes comes around in the middle of the night, and sees to be in one of the trees closest to our bed
and
6) very small birds that remind me of hummingbirds, but larger than a hummingbird, who can hover in place like a hummingbird, but seemingly for only a few seconds at a time, who i mistly see looking for bugs around our screened windows -- one i notice at the window behind my desk, pretty much daily. they are impressive (to me)

I have dumbly always underrated this album, maybe because it is stopover of sorts between the "krautrock" (what a genre name) of the traffic cone-cover kraftwerk albums (1&2) and the stuff from Autobahn onwards when they became what they are best known for. A shame, nothing wrong with Ralf & Florian.
