So, quick update for those following my adventures (for those that haven't been: I've been in quarantine due to a positive COVID test on Friday, done because of exposure earlier in the week. I've been perfectly well). There are basically 2 types of tests for acute infection, a rapid (antigen) test, and a slower PCR test (that's the one that takes a few days for a result). I had the both done on Friday, and the rapid test came back positive, which has put me in a room, quarantined, no contact with anyone, food left at the door (actually started on Tuesday with the exposure). Today the PCR came back negative; odds are I had a false positive rapid test on Friday. The plan is to repeat the PCR tomorrow (I have a place I can get the results the same day). If it's still negative, I stop quarantining. This will be especially exciting for my pooch, Ozzie (see my pic), who is having a terrible time figuring out why I'm in the house, but he can't see me or go near me.

KimSorise:

Oh DocJazz - I hope all turns out well with a false positive and you and Ozzie can be reunited. What a serious bummer.

doctorjazz:

If all goes well, I get out of this room tomorrow night.
