We're stuck with a duck here...

WR:

hi Jan, doing housework so have lost track of which Caravan we are on now but am assured that it is headed to exotic places.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am
fred:

Hi Jan, I won't listen for long though, archives to listen to later. But this show will be the soundtrack to laundry first
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am
Roger:

Jan, I should tell you how much I LOVE hearing your show right after mine. It is the perfect wind-down! I have so many balls in the air by the end of the show that Frame Duggy Louder is the ideal groovy tonic!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:24am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi WR and Fred! I am not much around myself either. Thanks for letting me know you're listening!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:24am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Roger!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am
Roger:

they say that for every listener comment, there are 2,000 other listeners, which multplies exponentially with the archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:26am
Roger:

They also say 73.29% of all statistics are made up on the spot

hello!

Domenic:

Hello! enjoying revisting this comp. And Roger, very nice show....

Everything is duckie over here Jan!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:34am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi mzzm! Hi Domenic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:35am
chresti:

Roger, how did they come up with that listener comment to number of listeners ratio?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:35am
Jan Turkenburg:

where did you find that Roger?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:37am
Jan Turkenburg:

On my local radio station, the editor in chief told me that for every listener that responds to a prgram online there are 10 others that don't... That is quite a different percentage
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:38am
Jan Turkenburg:

I don't care. It makes a different that there are people on the comment board. That's certainly true.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:40am
Jan Turkenburg:

If there are none, it makes me feel a bit uneasy. If somebody responds I know that there are at least a few people listening and that feels good.
Avatar 11:42am
Domenic:

Well with internet radio you always know how many are listening...unlike terrestrial...
  11:42am
mzzm:

good to know it. that was why hi try to say hi to DJs.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:42am
WR:

the listener statistic Roger states i find plausible for the broadcast stream. while i think the stream only streams are less i know it is still significant number based on my own experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am
Roger:

Jan, see my next comment :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am
chresti:

Shirley and spinoza, a stream, has a counter/map thing that tells the Remote Operator how many are listening and from where they are listening. When I made a comment he could see that I was somewhere in the SGV.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am
chresti:

Ha Roger, a ballpark figure?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am
Roger:

Transparency: I totally made up that statistic on the spot. I have no idea, really. I think they CAN tell how many people are streaming, but not sure if they can tell how many listen to archives, and the definitely cannot tell about the airwaves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am
Roger:

I am an unreliable narrator
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am
Roger:

But when I say I am digging this show, I am being reliable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55am
Roger:

Yes, and if no one is commenting, a DJ can't even tell if things are working and anyone is hearing anything. Then we just do a zen show. Like shooting photos with no film (or card),it is still a beneficial practice for all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am
fred:

@Roger: Jason once did a show that no one heard, so I would always check in just to tell him it was aired. I miss Jason's show
  12:02pm
mzzm:

ditto, i also miss jason's relax narration.

meanwhile I'm drinking energy drink and shaking with this programmmmmm

Domenic:

I was just texting with Cicodelico on his Facebook..... does he know about this honorable effort by Jan?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:12pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I'm afraid not, Domenic. I meant to look him up online, but things got a bit hectic lately and I forgot.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:14pm
Jan Turkenburg:

@Fred Jason will be back someday
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Jan Turkenburg:

@ Roger, I think they can tell how many people are listening, but the idea is that we just make our 'free radio' programs, without being bothered by how many people are listening.
