Are you ready?

I am! But are YOU?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:44am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi PK, I guess we'll just have to find out. :=]
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:45am
Paper Kosmonaut:

Hi Jan! I am sure you are.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:46am
Jan Turkenburg:

Of course! The bands are all lined up and waiting for their turn on the stage.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:47am
Jan Turkenburg:

It's a beautiful night for a radio show, there's not a cloud in my ceiling.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:48am
Paper Kosmonaut:

I have been thrown out of the train this morning. How's that for a start of the day? I jumoped in when the whistle went and the doors started to close when I was just in. The conductor came out and told me I was out of line and stopped the machinist from leaving, opened the doors again and pushed me out, telling me to get the next train. Have you ever! He must have stepped out of bed with the wrong leg.

For the rest everything's fine. How about you?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:52am
Jan Turkenburg:

what?!! I have had some similar confrontations with busdrivers at 6:30 pm. when I was working in at a school 20 km from Zwolle, that began at 7:45 which is a ludricous time to start with..
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:54am
Jan Turkenburg:

I'm fine. There's a kidney stone on the loose again, so I make the odd funny face during conversations, and I drink a lot of tea and water, waiting for that frightening pee that always ends it.

PK, sorry that happened to you! He must have woke up wrong or something!!

Jan, sorry you are dealing with kidney stones!! I don't know how you're functioning right now. I had them once in my 20's and had to be hospitalized and sedated until I passed them the next day. I've never been in so much pain!!
  12:10pm
MHLee:

Hi folks
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I'm alright Candy. The first one I had was just as bad as yours, also in my 20s. Didn't have one after until 8 years ago, and they are smaller. But I recognise the specific kind of pain/cramp but less intens and it always ends after a rather painfull pee, so I take the odd painkiller and drink a lot.

They have a habit of doing that, Guin... Google Translate usually helps me out!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I feel related to the Scots, their use of "Och" is almost the same as ours. We even pronounce it the same.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I'm sorry Guin. I sometimes have no clue about the cultural references on other shows' chatrooms. PK and I usually give a translation or explanation afterwards. And if not it's just too silly for words.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:28pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

We were citing a song by a famous Dutch satirical duo named Koot & Bie who often sang and talked in the dialect they have in The Hague.

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Jan Turkenburg:

They are praising Zwolle in such a way that it sounds like the most boring city ever.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

And they had a big influence on the Dutch language in general with new invented words that now are common.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:32pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Fun fact: they were asked to make a song to promote Zwolle by the society of local shopkeepers and catering busines. It resulted in a parody.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Jan Turkenburg:

It was never or hardly used for the intended purpose, but it ended up on one of their albums.
Avatar 12:33pm
DJ Guin:

why sorry? i am learning new languages here.
i was quoting poor Herman Brood.

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:50pm

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:50pm
Candy-O'67:

Jan, I'm happy they aren't as bad as in your 20's. Hope you pass it or them soon! I think mine was a freak thing because I was doing a lot of extacy at the time - being a young party kid! haha! I used to have a lot of shooting pains in my back after doing that a lot. So, I chalked it up to that! I quit that party drug after having the stones! LOL
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
