I think of what Michael Pollans says about our Food situation :
It may be the Ma & Pa farm on the label still ...but that's far indeed from what is actually happening in the can & how it got there anymore.
You can 'self-publish' - but only thru the narrowest bottlenecks of the hugest Oligarchies owned by the richest Monopoly Crapitalists that have ever existed in Human History. (& so you will not own it - or be promoted - much less actually compensated.) Not even the Robber Barons controlled our very Identities & Communities. The bitterest sort of irony in that the Interwebz - developed by tax-funded government - were supposed to Decentralize everything for us !
In other words - More & More is owned by Fewer & Fewer as perhaps the central fact of out time.

I'm not such a Marxist I don't think people should have the Profit from their own Labor &/or Ideas. But that's not really what he meant by Capital in fact. Capital is when someone else Profits off your Labor & Ideas off the top. & that's sure what's happening... Or, as MLK said - we too often have Socialism for the very rich, & rugged Individualism for the working & the poor.
