Never used a self cleaning oven feature on Christmas Eve!!!
.
We use the spray cleaner and let it sit for two hours because we're gonna be using the oven tomorrow and it was quite dirty.
.
We followed the instructions to clean it all out repeatedly with warm water and various rags. Then we thought:
Let's run the self cleaning oven feature.
.
Our house has been filled with very toxic air according to the very nice air filter I bought when New Jersey's skies turned orange.
.
Fortunately by cracking various windows, using sheets to segregate the rest of the house , we are bringing things under control.
.
I'm about to jump in the shower and bring you all with me. The family is now in the basement watching a holiday movie

I think there were fewer cars overall and per capita. There was some law about not being able to park cars on the street overnight which changed in the 60s or 70s iirc which helped a lot. That's why kids were able to play stickball in the streets back in the day, cars didn't roll by as frequently.
