I also saw a public TV independent lens type show about them at the same time, where the feature seemed to talk about Devo as if they were some worrysome trend in music. It may have been tongue in cheek, but I was too young to grasp the irony, so they sort of horrified me. I sure wish I could see it again.

	9:40pm Rich in Washington: The Dolls were pretty much done in NY by the time SNL premiered. And I wouldn't be surprised if there were an edict from up high against having any of NY's Punk bands on the show. The earliest SNLs had some remarkably dull but marketable acts on.
