I saw two back to back Garth โ€œsoloโ€ shows at St Annโ€™s in Bklyn back in the โ€˜80s. Garth played the church pipe organ, and he had a backing band that incl. Clifford Solomon on sax and (I believe) Billy Butler on guitar. His wife Sister Maud contributed vocals. Also, saw him there and at The Bottom Line as past of an all star band backing up the late great Marianne Faithfull.
Itโ€™s so ironic that Garth was the last to go since he was the oldest. He was a bit eccentric, but I donโ€™t think he ever messed with drugs (which were Richardโ€™s, Rickโ€™s and Levonโ€™s downfall. He was a brilliant musician!

Doug has to be higher than a Sir. At least an Earl, and maybe a Viscount.

Bob: I know WFMU from the record shows but rarely have a chance to listen. Glad I stopped by. I want to catch a bit of William Hooker, a good friend and talented musician.

good show today Bob!

btw if you check out the new Nick Drake book, the song "Mickeys Tune" (p54) is described - so it seems to have been recorded, along with "Joey in Mind"

Can't wait for the new Nick drake box set. Richard Morton Jack says hes doing the liner notes for it
