I loved skating. Got a flaming "Skull 'n' Skateboards" tattoo, would ride my Motorhead board to work, we loved all sorts of skate rock bands. We watched a ton of Bones Brigade videos and it was a nice slice of our lives in those days. (Imaginos will appreciate this: having seen the sci-fi skateboards on Max Headroom probably inspired me to ask for my first skateboard for an impending birthday.)

One times I saw Bikini Kill, I met them in the smoking section between bands, and they were trying to tell me about The Frumpies, as if they had no connection to them. Another good skating memory: when I lived in Eugene, OR, there was a goth kid who would ride around on a skateboard. We all knew that kid as SkateGoth, and the girls would usually swoon when he rode by. I don't know anyone who actually managed to talk to SkateGoth, but I recall he got a little passage written about him in a friend's zine.
