First hour sounded great

i have a 12" of height of the fighting with a rad percussion-heavy "dub" version.
- and tears for fears were a notch above their contemporaries, in my opinion.
...and don't forget yaz!

-and even his earlier albums can be a bit lack-lustre at times but there are gems mixed in.
"clues" is all good, in my opinion, and often Brilliant.

- it's been a long time! i have a few, and there's another i like almost as much as clues; but i get mixed up which is which.
sorry!

- also, like devo, sometimes great lyrics are hidden behind cheesy, silly musical arrangements.

definitely try Tony Coulter’s show - he still is an enthusiastic programmer of such material. As are a few other DJs!

but also i had only a casual interest in krautrock. i don't think i ever heard can until the 1990s. it might've changed the game plan if i'd heard it a decade or 2 earlier.
...but i took a whole other course through those times and those genres. "new wave" was always a precarious relationship with me. "punk" too i guess. i was most passionate about some punk, but was particular.
(not likely interesting to anyone)

oh goodness me!, don’t get me started!…
The Homosexuals collection blew my mind on its arrival, so did their issue of the very hard to find at the time Japanese only WHA HA HA albums!
ZNR, ART BEARS (esp the 3rd!), those mind expanding ReRec Quarterly Samplers with the custom silk-screened covers & extensive booklets!, all Faust reissues (‘Tapes’ was my fave), Peter Biegvad albums, Slapp Happy: ‘Acnalbasac Noom’ issue, CASSIBER, etc etc … got my copy of crazy Yugoslavian band: Begnagrad from Cutler. R.I.O: anything by Samla Mammas Manna, Etron Fou Leloublanc, Stormy Six, Art Zoyd, Univers Zero, etc. We could be here all night. I procured that cool silk screened mega box set of their 7”singles. Everything I could get my hands on & mind wrapped around.
What about your faves?
