castillian and latin-american spanish can be hard for me, if it's not mexican. i find it weird sicilian comes to me almost naturally.

oh goodness, italian dialects vary even more than mexican dialects. history and various ethnicities makes italian hard (which is why piedmont-savoy became standard italian even harder for me to understand)

sicily has too many influences to count. (greek only in place names), but also arab, and norman, and castillian. i'd hate to be a linguist studying sicillian, the only language [besides english] w/ more disparate influences is maltese.
