i grew up in the thriving metropolis of Martinsville, NJ and lived in New Brunswick while i went to Douglass (the women's college at Rutgers Univ.) . . . by around 1975/76, i was reading about this stuff in "Rock Scene" and Nancy Foster's "New Age" fanzine (anyone know where she is these days???) and send away for the records with the few dollars i had . . . first year at college, my room-mate was this sweet girl who was also a born-again Christian . . . and there i was hanging up stuff like the Teenage Suicide poster on my half of the dorm room's wall . . . fall of 1977, literally 30 years ago . . . yikes! BUT not like there was ready-made-pre-packaged "punk" back then . . .

I can['t] has holiday, not in all my 25 years (I started young) of paid work*. But I can has cheeseburger. http://icanhascheezburger.com/. I'm freelance, now, so sneak my errands in when most folks are thinking about that second cup of corporate coffee; today's milieu was a little more regular-folks than normal, but they all looked like banker types. And their way-too-young mistresses. That's what I get for running errands in Piedmont.
*none of which was in bank or gov't employ.

Yankees lose. @!#%&$#!! My second team, the Tribe, will be on the warpath!
  2:45pm
peter:

Thanks for the Stray Cats song. I use to love them so, embarassingly so. Do you have the live Rockats record there. I lost mine. If so please play. All those "Cats" bands inspired me to name my band in high school in the 80's the "Dan Katz" after our friend.
  11:10pm
efd:

@Jessica - Thanks for the link to icanhascheezburger.com -- I was trying to think of that site during my show, but totally blanked.
@Bill - Suddenly, I am no longer an Indians fan.
@Peter - I'm not sure if that Rockats record is in the station's library... isn't that the one that was rushed out something like a week or two after the show? I might actually have that in my own collection, I will take a look.
  11:28pm
