	10:27am dale: snowshoeing is fun and a workout for the calfs (calves?). I like looking at all the critter tracks in the fresh snow and hearing the woodpeckers banging away. Enjoy!
	10:28am annie: cecile, i hate to say this but mental exercise helps me alot. and i try to do math in my head everytime. seems to keep the barin sharp, otherwise, perhaps your mind is rejecting useless information.. oh, and crossword puzzles!!
	10:29am annie: of course only MY barin should remain sharp, you might want to focus on your "brain" ...(i really have to start using my glasses for typing).
	10:30am fishmonkeystew: I too have a pretty poor memory. Knocking out alcohol, eating better, and trying to get more exercise have also helped, in addition to reading alot (especially books that challenge me). Not the most exciting stuff, but (much to my wife's delight) it's worked so far.
	10:30am Cecile: I'm doing sudoku and crossword puzzles and weird modern solitaire games, and errrrrrrrrrr. I got into this tiff with DH because I was convinced he never gave me this one Shirley Collins/Albion Band CD to rip, but not only did I get it from him, I loaded it like...twice...already. And that's not useless information - it's a great album!

Patrick, Macs are too expensive, and I don't like anything that takes years to put in a right-click function. Just be careful what you put on your PC. I wondered about Paterson Plank Road too!
	11:10am Drunk Pompetus of Cupcakes: I saw a North American Great Horned Owl once while riding my bicycle through the Potomac River bird sanctuary. When it took off, it's wingspan was well over four feet. It looked like it could carry off a small child.
	11:10am trouble: patrick! i have a mac and hi speed cable connection, that is until it goes out for the day due to "repairs" in the nabe. warm hellos to you...
	11:14am annie: i was blassed by the sight of a peregrine falcon the other day driving home.. sitting right by the road on a tree-branch..
	11:14am michael: Macs are the best! They've had right mouse functionality for years, you just needed to get a two or three button mouse. Now they have their mighty mouse so no need. Price-wise they're pretty comparable, feature for feature.
	11:15am Cecile: I love my Mac. no probs for the most part.

	11:17am fishmonkeystew: Yeah, I dropped that Ginkgo right away. I'm an estimator at an electrical contracting firm and can't afford to be too scattered. WFMU playlist comments distract me enough. I've heard a few times that events need to make an impression on you in order to be remembered. If you purposely commit something to memory (repeat it in your mind), you will be more likely to remember it.

Mark, I'll have to resort to Post-It notes soon. I can't remember anything and my life is already very slow. And Ginkgo just makes me really... well... let's just say it's a good non-prescription substitute for a certain blue pill, at least in my experience. Great show!

I'm sick of Apple not supporting their older stuff (4 years old is ancient to the computer industry). My PowerBook was NOT worth the money I spent on it...
	11:34am Parq: With due respect to Ike and his {understandable} "everything mainstream sucks" orientation, I converted to Mac last summer and am completely pleased. Ike's approach is fine if you're willing to immerse yourself in the digital DIY culture. I dig that, and wish I had time for it, but I don't. The extra money for Mac is well worth the savings in agita.

I'm not great at DIY or putting things together. A friend gave me instructions. It wasn't hard. Admittedly I was unemployed then, though, so I had time for trial and error. Anyway, sorry to start another PC-Mac war. This is pointless; we'll never agree. But I love the music right now!

	10:28am annie: cecile, i hate to say this but mental exercise helps me alot. and i try to do math in my head everytime. seems to keep the barin sharp, otherwise, perhaps your mind is rejecting useless information.. oh, and crossword puzzles!!

	10:30am fishmonkeystew: I too have a pretty poor memory. Knocking out alcohol, eating better, and trying to get more exercise have also helped, in addition to reading alot (especially books that challenge me). Not the most exciting stuff, but (much to my wife's delight) it's worked so far.
	10:30am Cecile: I'm doing sudoku and crossword puzzles and weird modern solitaire games, and errrrrrrrrrr. I got into this tiff with DH because I was convinced he never gave me this one Shirley Collins/Albion Band CD to rip, but not only did I get it from him, I loaded it like...twice...already. And that's not useless information - it's a great album!

	11:14am michael: Macs are the best! They've had right mouse functionality for years, you just needed to get a two or three button mouse. Now they have their mighty mouse so no need. Price-wise they're pretty comparable, feature for feature.

I've heard a few times that events need to make an impression on you in order to be remembered. If you purposely commit something to memory (repeat it in your mind), you will be more likely to remember it.

Ike's approach is fine if you're willing to immerse yourself in the digital DIY culture. I dig that, and wish I had time for it, but I don't. The extra money for Mac is well worth the savings in agita.
