I'm in a mental slog today, doca, here in Eastern Daylight Time, so you're likely quite lively compared to me.
Morning, Jeff and Jeff!! Hope Jeff J's feeling well, either as co-DJ today or while continuing to convalesce!
@LJFW, I'm feeling much, much better today, thanks. I was barely human last week. Hopefully this week. Hope today's music with lighten up the slog.
@Andrew - Glad the schedule change makes it easier for you to listen
@LJFW: We're coming out of a small Indian summer to the first winter-like days. Lots of rain, dropping temperatures, that affects mood and liveliness of a person.
One bad thing about winter in South Brazil: apartments don't have central heating, so you're as cold inside as outside (usually it's colder inside)

Hello from Serbia again, got you live this time. Good morning for you, afternoon for us. We just had a nice festival here in Belgrade: http://ringring.rs/ring-ring-festival-2015/
@doca: Agreed. We're in for about a week of cloud cover and rain after a sunny 3-day weekend. Hoping it lifts by a mid-June shore excursion I have planned.
Once I went to the dentist and when I was on the dentist chair, ready to have a tooth treated, he started whistling "Aquarela do Brasil", that song from Terry Gilliam's Brazil movie. I felt just like the final scene of the movie.
Hahah yeah, he only had a twisted sense of humor, but was also the funniest and most pleasant dentist I've ever went. Later he said he always did it on purpose and congratulated me for getting the reference.
- indeed - ah those days it'd be a mini-Indian music festival one night, & The Ramones two nights later...still, there's FMU w/ the fridge & my favorite chair!...
Very glad to hear this now! i've been listening to javanese gamelan lately. 'had a good conversation with some indonesian women last week. they helped me (a little) with identifying what's what on my tape cases from indonesia, regarding what is the artist; the title; the type of music; the region.
Last night Jesse Kaminsky had as his guest co-host a fellow named Studebaker Hawk. I wonder if he is related to Golden Brown Hawk. Good morning Jeffs and all!
-me too Jeff; and these ladies couldn't help that much, though i appreciate them trying. not too many people in indonesia listen to gamelan any more. i get the impression it's like Bach (except that there's still a public ritual of it-am & pm)...just a few older people care about it,generally. these tapes i showed these women (in their 20s-30s) were pretty foreign to them; but they could read the print, which helped a bit.
...and there was no artist listed on the ones i brought to them. it's just "the people of the village".

@coelacanth: You showed elderly Indonesian women your Village People cassettes?!
My friend Ruth's father was Irving Berlin's nephew (her dad's name was in fact Irving Berlin Kahn!) and Berlin raised him like a son.Fascinatingly, Ruth and Irving Berlin look incredibly alike!

At Victo years ago Clusone Trio played with Gerry Hemingway's band after both played separate sets. Yow.
Which prompts the punch line, "No, but I have a dark brown overcoat."

And oh, a third trio - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clusone_Trio
The trio playing on Jewels and Binoculars :
Michael Moore - alto saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, melodica, bells
Lindsey Horner - bass
Michael Vatcher - percussion
Speaking of heralded geniuses: Ornette Coleman is suing his collaborators on his latest album, New Vocabulary, saying that he didn't agree to the release of what he says were rehearsal tapes.

Mapleshade is generally hi-fi, yes. Reliably so, I'd say, is CIMP. Marc Rusch is a master. As is Kavi Alexander at Water Lily Acoustics.
