In the Philippines, they elected a member of the elite who claims to be a law-and-order anti-elitist (sound familiar?) who whips up fear about drug pushers & users (though the actual rate of drug use is about the same as anywhere else) and now they have police death squads executing alleged dealers in the street (i.e. whoever the police feel like summarily executing). And that guy keeps getting good poll numbers! Sad.

In the Philippines, they elected a member of the elite who claims to be a law-and-order anti-elitist (sound familiar?) who whips up fear about drug pushers & users (though the actual rate of drug use is about the same as anywhere else) and now they have police death squads executing alleged dealers in the street (i.e. whoever the police feel like summarily executing).
