A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

well, I am no fox expert. But as a kid I had tons of books on wolves and foxes and I recall seeing some variation - I think it can also vary dependent on climate, locale, and age.. but not sure. I know I've seen photos of red foxes that were not the firey redish/orange that you might expect.

Folks today aren't aware how huge the canary-keeping business was for many decades. The Hartz company would send you canaries and a cage for your parlor,,\ and canary-feed and Victrola records and books to teach them to sing on command, all by mail-order. Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33am
Trouble:

the hoboken train station, located above the underground PATH station, is built like a T. al the trains have engines in front and back so they can drive out the opposite way they entered. the train crashed through the end and probably derailed. the platform in front is always filled with people waiting for the next train departure. behind that is a gorgeous waiting room that lots of people also use. sounds devastating to the people involved and to the thousands of commuters who go through the station every day. The ferry is also connected to this station

And those "bumper stops" might need to be re-evaluated, might need a bit of re-engineering

Emory has some interesting points from the one time I listened to him...
@Annite and Rev-
I have seen this country take a serious turn for the worse in the last ten or twelve years...I am seriously worried what kind of world will my sons grow up to live in??

i liked the canary record! 'thought it was funny.

SO easy to make fun of Dave Emory, but the truth is, a lot of what he's talked about for years is just the facts of history. He makes a strong, sober (mostly) argument for his central thesis: simply that Fascism is always lurking, expanding its influence, working to gain more control. Gotta love Dave. He's stuck with it for decades.

Trouble, Happy to be listening while harvesting strawberries to make this winters preserves.
I'll be doing these things regardless of which dingbat is elected. It will always be a struggle for liberation

We are all horrified by the news out of Hoboken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am
coelacanth:

i know someone personally who's much like Mr. Emory. he rants and is right on point most of the time; but if he doesn't incite the response he wants he starts making shit up, which is very unfortunate because it wrecks his credibility. he is brilliant though.
...also, most people shut down when someone talks AT them. ...partly because people are so damned insecure that they don't want to admit they've been duped - even when it's unavoidably obvious.

Wild Neil @11:35 -- my pessimism knows no bounds, with that stuff. The beauty in people and the desire to not-harm seem to be random mutations in the operating system. So to speak.
