One of John Ashbery's later volumes was devoted to Darger. Ashbery himself used to produce Darger-like collages.

hi Mayuko. my cow ghost did. didn't have much else to say though.
i think she was being polite; she didn't want to moo with cud in her mouth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm
coelacanth∅:

...been thinking about ghosts a lot lately. (reasons not least of which trying to figure out the lyrics of "casper" by Jessica Pratt, which i listen to like 4X/day)

yippeeeiaaaeeyyy ghost riders in the sky
Avatar 2:23pm

@coelacanth∅ Yes! Cows are good, dead or alive.
Avatar 2:24pm
Tony Coulter:

Many years ago, I slept in a field overnight and was woken up by a cow licking my face.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm
coelacanth∅:

awwww!

...reminds me of this: cdn2-www.dogtime.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm
coelacanth∅:

it always amazes me how very large creatures, like cows and horses, (& huge ones, like elephants) can be so gentle and graceful when conducting themselves around much more fragile beings.
Avatar 2:30pm
Mayuko:

I wonder if the cow was being extremely friendly or trying to figure out if you're edible?!?!?
Avatar 2:30pm
Tony Coulter:

I'm guessing I was supplying its minimum daily salt intake.
Avatar 2:33pm
Mayuko:

Haha! And so you got to wash your face without finding water. Kind of.
Avatar 2:33pm
Ike:

@Tony@2:24, haaa! That raises a lot of questions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm
coelacanth∅:

my guess would be either the salt; or it thought you were hurt and was doing the only thing cows know to do to revive you.
  2:34pm
Dean:

Maybe the cow had a beef over your occupying its field?
Avatar 2:43pm
Tony Coulter:

If memory serves, it was a Tennessee cow, so I probably provided her only chance to lick a city slicker from the Big Apple.
Avatar 2:48pm
βrian:

Why, I'm looking into the "néant blanc" right now. It's really snowing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm

city slickers can be tasty
-never mind.
