"The Good Place" is a network sit-com; it's something that on the surface I would normally avoid like the plague, but Ms. Low was watching and I got inadvertently exposed to. It's a solid B- grade from me, but that's quite high for a modern network sit-com for me. Some of the jokes are a bit dopey and hokey, but I like the philosophical content.

YouTube is full of incredible TV Christmas specials of old - probably every one hosted by Dean Martin, Bob Hope, Judy Garland. There's a Liberace 1953 that I gotta watch. For those interested, the Bee Gees doc. is on HBO today, around 4--4:30. Will probably tune in, although I have mixed feelings on them: love the early stuff but can't get past the disco & high-pitched vocalizing which sounds like they're in pain. "The Good Place" is one of the best network sitcoms of the last decade or so, but you have to watch it from the beginning (& the first few seasons are better). About death, the afterlife, being a moral person (the lead character was an awful person who is trying to be better), philosophy, etc. ----it's an incredible balancing act & while it goes on a bit too long it's soooo much better than the usual mix of juvenilia and hacky jokes that most sitcoms have turned into.

Does anyone remember, “Nestor, the long eared Christmas donkey”? It’s Rankin Bass off the rails. His poor donkey mother dies of exposure!

Any scene in a movie that could aptly be called 'the wheelchair scene' is automatically not going to end well. See the original Manhunter for another unforgettable W.S.
