Hello, Krys. I'm glad you're paying tribute to Mike Pinder. I spoke with him once, and was able to let him know how much I liked his solo on "Go Now".

Dog digestion and domestication both firmly within tolerances today, so things are pretty good!

Also, last night there was an NYC event for alums of my high school. K8 and I were chatting with, er, some of the older folks (staff), and this kid comes up, huge, blond kid, I think he was class of 2019(!), ear loops, Viking beard, awesome stuff. And he points at my T-shirt and says, "Is that a radio station?" And it turns out he has a freeform postpunk show on his college's station (Drexel U in Philly) and LOVES radio and freeform and *had never heard of WFMU*! So, well, he's heard of it now, that's for sure. Was going to spend his bus ride back to Philly checking it out.

I'm going to check out his show, Friday, 12-2 PM.

That felt like a win!

Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:58pm
fred:

I once had a very awkward moment about that. A dinner for a friend's birthday. There was a woman he was very much into, my offhand mention of the Subgenius made her very much into me, she wanted to take me home. I couldn't do that to my friend, plus I'm a Discordian, so that would have been lying. Bad choice, trust me to make those
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 1:59pm
WR:

Speaking of frop affecting memories, I have some fragments or flashes of memories of seeing The Moody Blues around 1969. No people left that I could ask to confirm if we were there or so far Out There while listening.

That attraction was a selling point in the early Subgenius pamphlets.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:03pm

Yeah, but that would have been false advertising, not that "Bob" would have a problem with that. But, again, I'm a Discordian

How old is she now? I'm wondering if at some point Radio will start sleeping less and wanting to do more.

We took him to the WFMU benefit Wed. night since it was in the neighborhood. He did great -- charmed the pants off of Ken and Matt, met lots of people, was very sweet all night. But it meant he was awake from dinner (6) to supper (11), and MAN he did not MOVE the next day!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm

She's 6 months old (makes her an adolescent, I suppose). Our previous dog, Ozzie (who passed at 15 this past November) had his active moments when he was young, but wasn't quite "on" as much as Laila (then again, we were 15 years younger too). We have another adult dog in the house, she's not quite as active as Laila. My sense is they have different personalities from the git-go, much like their humans.

When we got Ozzie, we picked him out of a litter-he was the quiet one of the litter even then, not as rambunctious as his sibs (which we liked). We got Laila as a rescue, so we had nothing to go on.

The first kitten I adopted as an adult was brought into my office with other kittens from the litter. The one I chose was climbing all over everyone trying to get as high as possible. She continued doing that. She tried to get on my head once when I bent down. Ha! She would jump up on the top of the door jamb in the middle of the night. She was so adorable and sweet.
