	10:27am Mike East: I got really into Miyazaki a few years ago. My daughter loves Howl's Moving Castle - and Ponyo. Princess Mononoke was a little scary for her at this point - but that's my favorite.

Man, Miyazaki doesn't make bad films. Neither does Svankmajer. Though seeing his Alice when I was 12 was a bit disturbing... Anyone else seen Svankmajer's version of "The Fall of the House of Usher"?
	10:59am indonesian: Um, "in our culture" we do use CDs and MP3s. Cassettes haven't been seen in Indonesia since the 80s. Actually, you'll find that Indonesians are faster adaptors of new technology than Westeners. Every second person there practically upgrades their cellphone on a monthly basis. So there. We do know how to use computers. Thanks.

	11:03am Mike East: I love the foley effects in all the Svankmajer films I've seen. The sound of the devil's mouth clacking in Faust still gives me the creeps.
	11:03am Caryn: The 2011 release of "Requiem for a Village" is awesome. It comes with 4 short films by the same director and the essays are fascinating. Paintings are quite lovely too.
	11:04am Adrian in London: @Mike: No, I haven't seen that one. They're always on Film Four, a digital channel over here, but with the English dubbing. I prefer the Japanese soundtrack so tend to get them on DVD. Too many things to watch/see/read etc!
	11:08am Mike East: @Adrian - so true. The Castle of Cagliostro music soundtrack is pretty great. It has a kind of 70's funk/caper movie feel to it.
	11:09am Caryn: @Mike: oh man, "Faust". You're right about the devil. When I was younger, Svankmajer's "Jabberwocky" freaked me out. I think it was the maggots that did it.
	11:10am zoran: Great show Trouble & Ben!! ---Ben, any info on where to find screening room dvd/streams? I was lucky enough to see the one w/ Standish Lawder on amazon before the license was pulled... Only thing I can find has them for $175 per episode on dvd.

	11:24am Brian en Angleterre: Been out and just got in. Was Requiem for a Village about somewhere in Suffolk, came out in 70s. Think I used to work with the cinematographers wife. I remember her talking about it at the time.
	11:24am Caryn: @Ike: yep, not as good as the book (but then again, I LOVE the book), but still a very enjoyable film. @zoran: I find it rather appropriate that "Asparagus" used to be shown as a double bill with Lynch's "Eraserhead". That would be a movie-going experience that would make you go hmm...

	10:59am indonesian: Um, "in our culture" we do use CDs and MP3s. Cassettes haven't been seen in Indonesia since the 80s. Actually, you'll find that Indonesians are faster adaptors of new technology than Westeners. Every second person there practically upgrades their cellphone on a monthly basis. So there. 	11:03am Caryn: The 2011 release of "Requiem for a Village" is awesome. It comes with 4 short films by the same director and the essays are fascinating. Paintings are quite lovely too.
	11:04am Adrian in London: @Mike: No, I haven't seen that one. They're always on Film Four, a digital channel over here, but with the English dubbing. I prefer the Japanese soundtrack so tend to get them on DVD. Too many things to watch/see/read etc!
