A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

sure, if you know a landowner. most of the wide open spaces are owned by NYC & NYS, as we're in the watershed & the interest is in suppressing development, to keep city water clean. there's no chemical filtration at all & they'd like to keep it that way. no camping allowed on public lands here, even though we're actually a state park!

Please eschew "SO". Listen to very young, inexperienced NPR reporters for a minute or two. They respond to EVERY line of inquiry during the story with the dreaded... SO. It's a mental placeholder akin to "ummm" or "well," but it sounds pretentious to my ears. As if the next words out of their mouths are worthy of laser focus.

I deleted my Facebook account and LinkedIn account. China just came out with their social score, which is partly based on online postings. Hope that does not come here, but it could! It might! Dear melinda, it's a personal thing but it just seems to be an annoying trend in language, much like "Rilly!" or "Y'know", et al. from the past. It will be with us forever I'm sure. @WN, I think that was a funny rumor they started for publicity. They were early masters of starting crazy rumors for publicity.
