A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

LL I’ve always enjoyed the subsidized/pay what you wish fee and give 50cents, I feel no shame and appreciate the ability of seeing what my British friends call the “thievery” in the museum.

I just looked at the Met’s website
“For New York State residents as well as New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut students, the amount you pay is up to you.”

We accept many forms of residency verification, including:

New York State driver's license
New York State identification card
IDNYC
Current bill or statement with a New York State address
Student ID
New York library card

Linda lee- everyone has to “pay” and get an entrance sticker to go into the exhibition halls. I haven’t been since last year. I thought I heard their policy was changing to start charging all non NYers but I guess Tristan’s folks are NYers too
Avatar 10:01am
ⓔⓚⓔⓔ:

@TDK, not all of that is actually A440; some of it was her excellent free-form show Stochastic Hit Parade. Sometimes newer show titles will weirdly overwrite older show titles, or in her case the two titles somehow got melded together. But they were 2 different shows.

One example of the weird show title overwriting in old FMU schedules: John Allen's show had no title in 2001 but here it says it was "JA in the AM" even though it wasn't on in the AM! He didn't start using that title until recently. Revisionist history! Some kind of weird HTML coding error in the schedules: wfmu.org...

Probably because it started as a Commonwealth sport it does not attract ESPN's radar and ofcourse a Test Match can last FIVE days. With peoples attention spans decreasing this limits exposure. It has it over football (soccer) any day.
